What is Crossfit?

CrossFit is an international recognised training methodology that combines constantly varied, functional movements done at high intensity.  CrossFit enables you to achieve amazing fitness results in a relatively short span of time.

It’s the exercise methodology used by the Australian SAS, US Navy SEALS, and countless law enforcement and first response groups around the world.  Adapted for use by general population, it’s quickly becoming the training method of choice for athletes from all backgrounds.

CrossFit provides a level of fitness that prepares you for occurrences in everyday life. The workouts are scaled to meet your physical capabilities and regardless of your experience or starting fitness level you will find your best fitness in the CrossFit program. All Cooee CrossFit classes are 45 minutes, including warm up, the workout, and a cool down. Classes are held at our CrossFit-specific facility (the “box”) at Revolution Sports in Shenton Park and outdoor FitCamp locations.

Examples of CrossFit exercises include running, rowing and jump rope in an endless variety of drills. The clean & jerk, snatch, squat, deadlift, push-press, bench-press, and power-clean. Jumping, medicine ball throws and catches, pull-ups, dips, push-ups, handstands, kips, cartwheels, muscle-ups, sit-ups and holds. We make regular use of rowers, the track, Olympic weight sets, kettlebells, rings, horizontal bar, free exercise mat, plyometrics boxes, medicine balls, and jump ropes.

All CrossFit exercises can be scaled to suit any level of fitness and ability and we have 65 year-old grandmothers working out alongside 20 year-old surf lifesavers.
